Joe Beef Market 2011 – Booth Rental Notification

The Société d'histoire de Pointe-Saint-Charles (The Point St. Charles History Society) is pleased to announce that our 4th Annual Joe Beef Market will take place on Saturday, September 10th 2011 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Joe Beef Park on Centre Street in the Point.

This year the Joe Beef Market will honour Emily Coonan, a well known Canadian painter who was born and lived most of her life in the Point. And, once again, the PSC Community Theatre will present skits that make history fun - and bring Emily to life. In addition, as we did last year, our stage will also feature a number of talented people including singers; dancers etc.

And as in the past, we are offering you a booth rental at this event to display your goods or services. We have maintained the basic cost of $25.00 for a table and chair at this event. It is difficult to know exactly how many people visit the market during the day, but last year it seemed that they were many hundreds or visitors (perhaps more than 1000) over the course of the day. So, $25.00 to introduce your goods or services to all these people is a pretty good deal!

The procedure to rent a booth is as follows:-

  1. Click here to see the Protocol Rental Agreement  (in English) or (click here for the agreement in French); print it out; and complete the information.
  2. Fax your form back to 514-935-4162 ASAP
  3. Mail your check payment made to the order of: Société d’histoire de Pointe-Saint-Charles (SHPSC) and then mail it to:

If you are renting a booth, may we suggest that:

a) This event is not a Garage Sale and is meant primarily for artisan goods. We only accept booths that have basically new (or antique) goods for sale. We reserve the right to refuse a booth rental.

b) You should bring some kind of tent or umbrella to cover your table. It can get pretty hot in the Park on a sunny day. This is very important if you are selling any food products.

c) This year we were not able to get a small subsidy – so, if you are selling any food products & only if we have a tent available to provide to you, we will have to charge an additional $25.00 for a covering to anyone selling food at the market without a tent covering.

d) Important - Please note that the law requires that anyone selling food products must have their space protected by a covering (i.e. A tent type protection). So anyone who does not bring their own covering, or does not want to rent one from us, - will not be able to set up at the market

e) For other individuals - not selling food – there would be a surcharge of $80.00 (our rental cost) to provide a tent covering for their area.

f) Since this event is an historical market, it is always more fun if our Exhibitors dress up in some kind of historical costume.

Important:

All documents and your payment must be received prior to August 15th 2011 – otherwise we are not able to guarantee you space at this year’s market

Thank You
